Procurement thresholds

📢 Public Procurement Thresholds Will Change Starting Next Year

The European Commission has approved new public procurement thresholds for 2026–2027. These thresholds determine the contract values from which EU public procurement directives must be applied. The thresholds are reviewed every two years to reflect exchange rate changes between the euro and the IMF’s Special Drawing Rights (SDR).

Classical procurement (Directive 2014/24/EU):

⚪ Central government supply and service contracts – €143,000 → €140,000
⚪ Supply and service contracts for other contracting authorities – €221,000 → €216,000
⚪ Works contracts – €5,538,000 → €5,404,000

Utilities sector procurement (Directive 2014/25/EU):

⚪ Supply and service contracts – €443,000 → €432,000
⚪ Works contracts – €5,538,000 → €5,404,000

Concession contracts (Directive 2014/23/EU):

€5,538,000 → €5,404,000

These thresholds will apply from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027 across all EU Member States. Corresponding values in non-euro currencies have also been published.
